After few months of operations, nearly 20’000 PointsPay users have registered, and more than 100 million miles of launch partner Etihad Guest have been redeemed at over 5’000 online and in store merchants spread over 1’000 cities around the world. Dominic Hofer, CEO of Loylogic and PointsPay, said:
“PointsPay seems to provide more convenience, control and the ultimate reward selection to loyalty program members when spending their hard-earned points or miles. At the same time, PointsPay increases the perceived value of the participating loyalty currencies, making programs more successful in driving engagement and accrual of their currency.
We are proud that the payment industry is awarding our solution for the second time this year and are convinced that the ability to pay with loyalty currencies is a crucial factor in the so called ‘Wallet War’. Scandinavian Airlines Renews Contract with Loylogic for 20 Years; Extends Relationship with Company to Upgrade Carrier’s EuroBonus Reward Shop Monday, 15 October 2012 Zurich, Switzerland and Stockholm, Sweden – Loylogic, a global innovator in e-commerce and e-payment solutions for loyalty and rewards programs designed to reduce liabilities, while increasing member engagement and revenues, is renewing its contract with Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) to upgrade and improve the airline’s EuroBonus Reward Shop.
Loylogic’s solution for SAS focuses on increasing the EuroBonus program’s value by offering EuroBonus members additional rewards with great flexibility and competitive prices. The unique shopping portal allows members to burn their earned points for merchandise and other non-flight rewards, giving members the ability to spend their points as they choose. It also includes a broader and unique portfolio of opportunities to burn points, making membership more rewarding regardless of travel habits.
Unique Rewards, Fulfilling Offers
“In our globally-challenged economy, travellers are particularly cost sensitive and “getting there” really is only half the journey. Travellers crave heightened value from their loyalty program too,” said Lars Holmquist, COO of Loylogic. “We look forward to making continued improvements to the EuroBonus Reward Shop while helping travellers purchase what they want, where they want it, and when they want it delivered. Loylogic is very excited to be continuing the partnership that began in 2008 and to have the opportunity to bring quality rewards and innovations to the SAS EuroBonus program and its member base.”
Launched in 2009, the EuroBonus Reward Shop is available to all EuroBonus members who collectively have purchased more than 100,000 products, delivered to 78 countries, and whose top orders hail from Denmark, Sweden and Norway. Since its inception, the EuroBonus Reward Shop website has enjoyed over 1.8 million visits, and is accessible on the ground and through in-flight Wi-Fi. SAS EuroBonus members can redeem points for over 3,000 unique rewards from a broad range of categories including electronics, sports, beauty and experiences. Other unique rewards are focused on experiences such as a suborbital space flight, a romantic night in an igloo, to Legoland tickets.
20 Year Contract Rare In Any Industry
The 20-year agreement between Loylogic and SAS speaks to the long-term confidence between the companies and to Loylogic’s ability to offer exceptional value, and expanding selections of the very latest products and accessories to the SAS member base today.
“Since its launch, the EuroBonus Reward Shop has been a valuable addition to the redemption options available to our loyalty program members. They have benefited from increased flexibility and choice,” said Magdalena Rohdin-Hurtig, Manager of Redemption, SAS EuroBonus. “The new agreement means our members can continue using a combination of points and cash to redeem their rewards at reduced prices. This is a big win for our members and for the growth and value of our program. We are very excited to be able to offer our members new products at attractive prices comparable to other shopping sites.”

PointsPay Launches First Mobile-Based Wallet To Convert Loyalty Points and Miles into Cash Thursday, 27 September 2012 Zurich-Kuesnacht, Switzerland – PointsPay, Inc., a company that offers a mobile wallet and payments solution for leading loyalty programs, has launched its PointsPay mobile app, the world's very first mobile-based wallet for redeeming loyalty points and miles at the point of sale (POS). Part of Loylogic, a leader in loyalty e-commerce and e-payments solutions, PointsPay is set to change the way loyalty program members redeem their points, by giving them the option to convert points or miles into more than 150 currencies, to spend in-store or online at over 30 million merchants worldwide.
"Millions of consumers participate in multiple loyalty programs, but struggle with lack of options and choice when it comes to redeeming and spending their hard-earned rewards. The ideal scenario is a loyalty solution that allows them to convert their points or miles into any currency, and to use that currency however they want," said Dominic Hofer, Founder and CEO of Loylogic and PointsPay. "PointsPay addresses this need on behalf of loyalty programs and their millions of members."
Turning Loyalty Redemption into Liquid Currency
Members of participating loyalty programs can load their points or miles via the PointsPay mobile app, which can be downloaded from iTunes, on to a PointsPay prepaid Visa or MasterCard plastic card or a virtual card. The fully secure mobile wallet features a two-step payment process. Members can select an amount to load onto their virtual or prepaid card, and pay as if using cash, choosing from over 150 currencies, making PointsPay a truly global payment option."What is truly unique about our PointsPay offering is that the points and miles are suddenly following loyalty program members rather than members having to chase their points to where they can be redeemed. We have flipped the traditional redemption model on its head," Hofer added. "Ultimately, PointsPay is creating a way for consumers to turn their loyalty into liquid currency, instantly, easily and securely, with the freedom of spending those loyalty points or miles in any way they choose, anywhere in the world. "
PointsPay's mobile application is a key driver in motivating loyalty and future purchases, demonstrated in the recent integration with Etihad Guest, the rewards program from the United Arab Emirates' national carrier Etihad Airways. Through PointsPay, the airline is providing a way for its members to enjoy maximum flexibility and freedom to earn points and convert to cash at more than 30 million in-store and online outlets worldwide. In just the first few days of the program's launch on Etihad Guest, PointsPay issued close to 1,500 PointsPay Virtual and Plastic Cards and loaded 50 million miles.

Loylogic has centered is solution value around providing this global consistency.
For the launch of the Priority Club Rewards global shopping portal, Loylogic delivered its solution in English, German, Mandarin, Simplified Chinese and Japanese to satisfy some of IHG’s key growth markets. The number of currencies available for payment has also increased to match IHG’s global footprint. Loylogic have even introduced their own merchant affiliate network, Loymax™, to ensure customers in markets where merchant affiliates do not provide a sufficient number of brands to excite the IHG customers, are given the same opportunities as customers in more established e-commerce markets. Results have been impressive and delivered a significant increase in key program activity within the first month of release. Loylogic have seen online mall clicks increased by 254%; online shopping transactions increased by 950% and program commission increased more than ten-fold.
Dominic Hofer, Chief Executive Officer of Loylogic said:
‘We are thrilled to work with the world’s largest hotel loyalty program and to help IHG engage with their most valuable customers. IHG will truly leverage the global infrastructure we have worked so hard at Loylogic to establish. Since the office was opened in August, Loylogic has in-sourced 21 employees, transferred 3 employees from the Zurich headquarters, recruited 9 new employees and contracted 7 new staff. The next target in this ambitious recruitment strategy will be to increase the total number of Loylogic India employees to 50 by the end of 2011.
This strategic move is directly aligned with a period of huge growth for Loylogic in 2011: a trend set to continue through 2012. Bringing Loylogic’s Technology Center in-house is expected to deliver a number of immediate benefits:
- Quality – a characteristic synonymous with the Loylogic brand, and a constant focus for all company employees which will now be controlled with direct resource management and leadership.
- Efficiency – while the wider Loylogic IT team will remain deployed regionally to support clients directly, the core of the Technology Center in Pune allows resource efficiency and more effective project assignment.
- Intellectual Property – Our solutions and innovations will remain under immediate control and direction of Loylogic management.
- Financial Control – the short term investment in this venture will quickly be realized by the long term savings from the development of the technology center.
Piyush Khandelwal, Chief Technology Officer and General Manager, Loylogic India said:
Dominic Hofer, Chief Executive Officer of Loylogic said:
‘Opening the Loylogic Technology Center has been a key strategic objective for the company and was carefully prepared over the last 4 years. Now we have secured the implementation of that vision by transferring the most talented individuals from the former vendor, and I look forward to the efficiencies and success this move will bring to our clients and to Loylogic.’

Loylogic obtains United States Patent for its "Slider"
Loylogic obtains United States Patent for its "Slider" Monday, 07 June 2010 Zurich, Switzerland and Atlanta, GA USA – Loylogic further strengthens its commitment to leadership in customized reward solutions for loyalty programs. On April 13, 2010, the US Patent and Trademark Office registered the ‘Slider’ under Patent No. US 7,698,185 B2.
Loypay™- an innovative points-plus-cash payment technology with a difference
In order to ensure that its innovative and dynamic solutions are protected and nurtured for its global clients, Loylogic has kicked off 2010 by gaining a significant patent for technology that lies at the heart of its reward mechanisms. The granting of this patent enables licensed loyalty programs to deploy exclusive, cutting-edge technology in differentiating their programs.
From the first moment of its launch, Loypay™- also known as the 'Slider'- was set to be a star, offering significant benefits both for program managers and their loyalty members.
It’s an industry precedent that allows for fully flexible points-plus-cash reward payment. In addition, based on a proprietary algorithm, the Slider generates dynamic per-point-values of up to $100 per point - at unchanged costs to the program sponsor.
“The slider is among the most outstanding loyalty innovations since the creation of the first FFP by American Airlines in 1983.” (Randy Petersen, Editor of Inside Flyer, Sep. 2006)
It enables program sponsors to incorporate a point of difference to engage members by giving them total control over how they fund their own reward redemptions; thereby providing a feeling of intimacy with the program.
Through a fully flexible payment option, members can redeem with a mix of loyalty points or miles, plus currency.
This gives customers freedom of choice and lets them integrate their own reward aspirations with their lifestyles. If they want something quicker than they might be able to obtain it with miles/points collecting, then they can call the shots with the ‘Slider.’ Customers can choose the construct of their payments to be as little as 1 point, with the remainder in cash, or the other way round: $1, with the remainder in points.
The real and perceived value of the Slider
Programs which use the Slider allow their customers to gain value from every single mile they collect. Building in value like this from the very start, at the basic entry level, sets loyalty programs apart from their competitors and gives customers exactly what they want. Not only is there a very real value in their points but they also perceive it as a way of accumulating currency which offers a true and more immediate benefit, which is a tangible mark of gratitude from the sponsoring company in recognition of its customers’ loyalty.
During the 2008 Freddie Awards voting process, Loylogic asked frequent flyers for their opinions about redeeming their miles. When asked how fully-flexible miles-plus cash reward payment would increase the value of their FFP miles, 94% responded positively, with 26% indicating it would ‘change their world’.
Recognition
Setting industry standards has already reaped rewards for Loylogic. The Slider was named the winner of the ‘Industry Impact Award’ at the 2007 Freddie Awards in Washington D.C., and played an integral part of other subsequent success for the Etihad Guest customer management team at the 2008 Freddie Awards, winning the following awards:
- Programme of the Year - Airlines Europe, Middle East, Africa
- Best Award Redemption - Airlines Europe, Middle East, Africa
- Best Airline Web Site - Airlines Europe, Middle East, Africa
Licensed, and now Patented
Loylogic has already licensed the now patented ‘Slider’ with various loyalty programs around the globe; these programs now have a fully-protected element of differentiation that they can rely on to strengthen the attraction of their own propositions.
For more information on use or licensing of the ‘Slider’, please contact Thomas Kindler, General Counsel at Loylogic ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ).

BalticMiles goes live with the Loylogic BurnShop™ solution
BalticMiles goes live with the Loylogic BurnShop™ solution Monday, 17 May 2010 Zurich, Switzerland and Riga, Latvia - Leading international reward solutions provider, Loylogic, scoops another major global airline client, airBaltic. Consistent with its pledge to deliver rapid deployment through a modular approach, Loylogic has helped inject better reward value, more choice and fun to airBaltic’s program, within a minimal timeframe; made more impressive by the extensive range of activities involved during the deployment phase.
Hassle-free solution
BurnShop™ is a groundbreaking solution, not only due to its flexible reward structure that offers total freedom of choice to program members (they can claim gifts for as little as one point or mile, depending on their own selected cash contribution) but also due to the hassle-free nature, from a client perspective, of slotting the whole scheme into place.
- Infrastructure
In the case of airBaltic, Loylogic wrapped the necessary management infrastructure around the program; assisting with recruitment and training of the local management team. Part of the preparation process also involved opening new offices in Riga, Latvia, to provide optimum support and knowledge to the core markets engaged in the BalticMiles program.
- Program functionality
For the program itself, Loylogic managed, tested and implemented integration with the BalticMiles points engine, as well as uploading all rewards to the online shop ensuring consistency with the BalticMiles brand. Loypay solutions are now also integrated to the program, including payment gateways for the clearing of the cash components on reward redemption, all now managed in local currencies relevant to users.
Global and local appeal
Putting the final touches to the program’s global appeal, Loylogic will complete the task by making the site available in eight local languages relevant to the airBaltic core markets.
BalticMiles was launched in 2009, giving customers the opportunity to earn miles through flights and targeted spend. With the Loylogic solution, they are able to redeem from a selection of more than 1500 exciting non-flight rewards, including branded merchandise and experiential offerings.
Loylogic has creatively sourced its rewards from international brands, as well as a targeted selection of relevant local partners, providing the most diverse rewards mix in the Baltic States.
The BalticMiles program boasts 151,000 members from 163 countries. In the short implementation period more than 30 new, local merchants have been sourced, and over 100 local products added to the customer redemption options. Aligned with Loylogic’s promise of global delivery solutions, products are available to customers residing in 234 countries. Strong local brands now complementing the line-up include Emihls Gustavs Chocolate, Stenders handmade bath and body cosmetics, Taka Spa treatments, Aqua Villa dream holidays and Vina Studija fine wine indulgences.
Featuring the patented Loypay™ technology, also known as the ‘Slider’, loyal customers have full flexibility in choosing between miles and cash contributions when redeeming from the extensive selection available in the BalticMiles Shop.
More to come
These initiatives constitute just the beginning of an electrifying schedule of enhancements lined up for the near future. An extremely progressive and ambitious program strategy, will soon offer customers multiple redemption channels, exciting points earning capabilities and even more extensive rewards choice.
Tero Taskila, Chief Commercial Officer of airBaltic said:
“With the opening of the BalticMiles Shop, we have created an exciting opportunity to spend the new currency of the North ‘BalticMiles’. You can spend your currency for things you need every day – like a bar of handmade soap or chocolate, but then you can buy a Formula 1 drive with a real F1 pilot, or go on a James Bond tour, or indeed take a sub-orbital flight to nearly reach space. You can also donate your BalticMiles points for charity.”
Robert Moerland, VP Client Services of Loylogic said:
“BalticMiles has become an innovative and rapidly developing loyalty scheme, and is a perfect fit to work with the solutions of Loylogic. We are very pleased to share our solutions with such a dynamic company and look forward to our partnership together.”

Another Fabulous Performance for Etihad Guest at the Freddie Awards
Another Fabulous Performance for Etihad Guest at the Freddie Awards Friday, 01 May 2009 Kusnacht/CH, Fort Lauderdale/USA – For the third consecutive year, Loylogic client Etihad Guest did fantastic at the annual Freddie Awards. The frequent flyer program of Abu Dhabi based Etihad Airways, won four Freddies in the Europe, Middle East and Africa category including the prestigious awards for Best Website and Best Award Redemption.
At the 21st Freddie Awards 2009 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Etihad Guest was able to replicate its success of the previous years. Loylogic innovations helped the program to win as many as four Freddie Awards, including the coveted awards for Best Website and Best Award Redemption.
Best Website
After 2007 and 2008, Etihad Guest was honoured again for its website features, including Loylogic’s ‘Slider’ tool that allows members to design their own cash plus miles awards, which makes award redemptions with as little as one mile possible. In addition, the underlying Loypay™-algorithm generates values of up to 100 Dollars per mile spent, a value that no other program in the industry can match. Another big plus is the massive online rewards catalog featuring a network of close to 200 reward merchants worldwide that offer over 1,500 merchandise, experience, charity or auction rewards. Last but not least, the clear website structure and excellent usability of the Reward Shop clearly match the high expectations of Etihad Guest’s frequent flyers.
Best Award Redemption
Etihad Guest won the Freddie for Best Award Redemption for the second year in a row and took this category home for offering the most flexible award redemption in the industry. Members of Etihad Guest can start spending their miles with as little as one mile - the program offers the ultimate in cash and miles flexibility for award redemption. It’s obvious that the members appreciate this option and the ease in claiming awards.
Best Bonus Promotion and Member Communication
In addition, Etihad Guest could win the Best Bonus Promotion for giving its members the possibility to win up to 600,000 miles simply for booking their flights online. Finally, Etihad Guest won the Freddie for Best Member Communications with no less than a very impressive 9.45 value vote out of 10. Etihad Guest keeps in touch with its program members through a monthly e-statement, e-newsletter and the new dedicated reward e-newsletter.
The 21st Freddie Awards took place on April 23rd at the Hilton Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The Freddie Awards were introduced in order to honour the best frequent flyer and hotel programs worldwide. The Awards are named after late Sir Freddie Laker who attracted fame for pioneering low-cost air travel across the Atlantic in the 1970s.

66% of Frequent Travelers Find Miles Are Worth More
66% of Frequent Travelers Find Miles Are Worth More Wednesday, 25 March 2009 Kusnacht/CH – Following the insight gained from previous online surveys running alongside the Freddie Award voting, Loylogic has repeated the exercise for 2009; critical timing for understanding how loyalty programs may be perceived in the midst of the current economic crisis.
Loylogic, a leading reward solutions provider to loyalty programs worldwide, canvassed the opinions of more than 4,000 members from over 60 loyalty programs.
Significantly for marketers it emerges that, in the current downturn, miles and points are perceived as more valuable to program members. 66% confirm this, whilst 24% would find them more valuable if they were actually able to use them.
Lifestyle integration
Loyalty currency, and the purchasing power it places in the hands of program members, is now integrated into members’ lifestyles. 48% buying merchandise with their points tend to buy something they need and would also buy with cash; so the cash replacement value is becoming important. 31% use points to buy gifts for family and friends, and only 21% see the purchase opportunity as sitting outside their normal behavior (‘something expensive I would not buy with cash’).
Marketers should also be aware that this tendency to treat points as normal currency means that members seek good deals on good brands. As they would in their ‘non-promotional’ lives, so they do when it comes to points redeeming; 74% always compare prices when buying with cash via the Internet and, likewise, 70% calculate the cash value of their miles or points.
Adding value
The most significant motivating factor for program members (‘What makes the reward difference for you?’) lies, unsurprisingly, in the value they receive for their miles, as confirmed by half of all survey respondents. One in four prefers a large choice of rewards and 15% find that ‘an easy-to-use reward shop’ makes a difference. In addition, a staggering 84% would like the opportunity to use their miles or points directly on their preferred merchant websites.
The overall message is clear, miles and points have assumed greater significance to members now that we’re in a crunch; they’ll be looking to use them to defray purchase costs, but will expect the value represented by miles and points to hold up.
Rewards count now more than ever before, and it’s up to marketers to align their programs with member’s value expectations if they wish their programs to attract frequent users.

Loylogic takes SAS loyalty program to new heights Monday, 15 December 2008 Kusnacht/CH – Following a competitive pitch process, Loylogic, the leading international reward solutions provider, has been appointed by Scandinavian Airlines to build and operate the new SAS EuroBonus Reward Shop.
As well as wide-ranging reward and loyalty experience, Loylogic brings a growing worldwide reward merchant network to the task of strengthening, even further, the member appeal of SAS EuroBonus. The new, award-winning Loyrewards™ 2.0 platform will add another dimension to EuroBonus, taking it into 2009 in good shape to retain and attract customers.
In 2009 EuroBonus members will be able to redeem EuroBonus Points for a large selection of non-flight rewards, thanks to Loylogic. This is a global initiative which brings to fruition the ‘ambition’ that SAS Management referred to in its last Annual Report:
“The Group will also increase its focus on its most loyal customers. Its ambition is for EuroBonus to be the market’s leading and most attractive loyalty program bar none.“
The program is now about to swing into action as Loylogic prepares to put in place the technology, network and expertise which will provide SAS with the strategic and practical solution for driving member engagement.
EuroBonus members worldwide will soon benefit from a personalized reward experience which offers exceptional choice including auctions, games and the very latest gadgets, gizmos and services offering universal appeal, no matter what a member’s taste may be. EuroBonus Points are not only about to open up new possibilities for those who collect them, they’re about to become a real and vibrant currency that, through the Loylogic approach, makes redemptions easier, more exciting and more attractive than has ever been the case.
Loylogic innovation empowers the EuroBonus vision
Commenting on Loylogic’s appointment Mette Ostergaard, Vice President - SAS EuroBonus said:
“Getting the SAS EuroBonus Reward Shop is a prime consideration to enable us to breathe excitement and unrivalled customer appeal into the EuroBonus vision. This is a process which depends on finding a reward solutions provider that stands out above the competition, when it comes to expertise and innovation.
After meeting with numerous key players in the reward field it became clear that Loylogic could offer a technology platform capable of taking us to the next stage, and beyond. We’re hugely reassured by their proven and very strong delivery capabilities, creative business modeling and scalability.
But, at the end of the day, the whole business is about people; knowing you can work with them and depend on them to interpret your strategy and objectives. Loylogic offers a team of real loyalty and reward experts who not only know their own business inside out but also know ours astoundingly well”.
Dominic Hofer, CEO of Loylogic said:
“SAS EuroBonus is a scheme that has always helped to define the sensitive and complex process of loyalty generation. It’s the second longest-running frequent flyer program in Europe and has always been a showcase for innovation.
Our reward solutions at Loylogic offer a very real benefit to clients’ loyalty programs by making sure that they’re truly differentiated from whatever the competition may have come up with; that’s the main characteristic of all the work we’ve done over the last three years. SAS enables us to take our thinking to over 3 million new members, delivering great reward experiences and consolidating customer relationships over the long term for SAS”.

Loylogic to launch new loyalty reward platform
Loylogic to launch new loyalty reward platform Monday, 13 October 2008 Kusnacht/CH – Loylogic, a Leading rewards solution provider, today announced release of Loyrewards 2.0. The enriched loyalty reward platform creates a completely immersive, user-centric, fully personalized reward shopping experience that gives Loylogic clients the chance to create engaging, 360-degree customer experience on their loyalty program web sites. This is Experience Based Differentiation (EBD) in action, designed to strengthen customer loyalty through the reward process.
Based in Zurich, Switzerland, Loylogic focuses primarily on reward services, helping loyalty program clients steer and increase the value of their loyalty currency.
Loylogic’s vision is to ‘make miles and points more valuable than money’. This is a promise which Loylogic strives to deliver to its clients in key sectors where customer loyalty is the linchpin of marketing initiatives. The key programs include card reward programs in the financial sector, frequent flyer and frequent guest programs in the travel industry, frequent player programs for e-gaming companies and coalition loyalty programs in the retail sector.
Loylogic, through the strength of the reward offering, enables any program sponsor to differentiate its loyalty initiative from its competitors. The reward offering is extensive and is structured to appeal to the most diverse member profiles, globally.
And now all this just got better.
Loylogic delivers on its promises by combining state-of-the-art technology with a reward network that brings together the world’s leading brands in a reward shop that’s completely customizable for any client.
Perhaps the most engaging aspect for program members is that reward browsingand-buying is an easily navigable, media-rich, interactive and highly personalized experience. A new user interface and richer media functionality helps the user to ‘live’ the experience of exclusive brands, travel and experience rewards online.
From a functional perspective, reward browsing has been made easier with ‘Quick Finder’, ‘Gift Finder’ and enhanced ‘Search’ that allows for searching destinationfocused rewards and latest additions to the shop besides the keyword search.
Moreover, the new ‘Mini Basket’ feature allows users to manage their basket while browsing through the reward catalog even before entering the checkout process.
One of the most important aspects contributing to the all-important customer delight factor, however, is rewards personalization. Upon login, the experience flows to match the member’s profile and tastes through personalized rewards and targeted key visuals. Throughout the site, the reward recommendations are made based on personal profile. This aspect of the experience is also reinforced by better categorization of user’s transaction history.
When asked about the significance of Loyrewards 2.0, Dominic Hofer, CEO, Loylogic said: “Our research shows that after members have redeemed for the first time they start accruing more miles and points, actually up to three times more. Loyrewards 2.0 will help our clients become more profitable by moving that first redemption, the ‘Golden Moment’, to an earlier point in time of a member’s lifecycle. Loylogic continues to invest in technologies that drive member engagement. The best is yet to come.”

And the Freddie goes to
And the Freddie goes to Tuesday, 06 May 2008 Kusnacht/CH, Phoenix/USA – Loylogic did fantastic at the 20th Freddie Awards in Phoenix Arizona. Its client, the Abu Dhabi based Etihad Airways, won four Freddie Awards, and its Frequent Flyer Program Etihad Guest was awarded the most prestigious title of 'Program of the Year 2008'.
The Freddie Awards 2008 turned out to be an even greater success than last years’ nominations, where Loylogic’s client – Abu Dhabi based Etihad Airways – was awarded with the Industry Impact Award. This year, Etihad Guest won as many as four Freddie Awards for Best Website, Best Customer Service, Best Award Redemption and was crowned with the title of Program of the Year 2008!
Best Website:
Etihad Guest was honoured for its web site features, including the 'Slider' tool that allows members to design their own cash plus miles awards, which makes award redemptions with as little as one mile possible. In addition, the underlying Loypay™-algorithm based Loypay™-technology generates values of up to 100 Dollars per mile spent, a value that no other frequent flyer program in the industry can match. Other big pluses are the clear reward layout in various categories such as Travel, Adventure or Shopping, themed channels such as Reward of the Day, Christmas or Mothers’ Day and many other features frequent flyers expect from an award-winning program.
Best Award Redemption:
It looks like Etihad Guest members are starting to find out what it's like to redeem awards in the program and are very pleased by their experiences. Etihad Guest takes the Freddie home in this category for the first time by offering the most flexible award redemptions in the industry. Additionally, tools such as raffles and auctions are front runners that hit the bulls’ eye of frequent flyers’ desires.
Program of the Year:
'Newcomer' Etihad Guest – it was only its second participation in the Freddie Awards – has finally knocked out competition this year to claim Program of the Year, a truly impressive performance. Etihad Guest was ready from day one to offer their members an innovative, well-rounded, well thought out and flexible program. Members can immediately start redeeming with their first earned mile and as their mileage accounts grow, they are enticed with some of the best award choices in the industry: a network of over 120 partners world-wide offer over 1,200 stunning rewards from leading lifestyle brands.
The 20th Freddie Awards took place on April 24th in the Wyndham Phoenix Resort in Phoenix, Arizona. The Freddie Awards were introduced in order to honour the best frequent flyer and hotel programs worldwide. The Awards are named after late Sir Freddie Laker who attracted fame for pioneering low-cost air travel across the Atlantic in the 1970s.

94% of Frequent Flyers Want Miles-plus-Cash Reward Payment Option
94% of Frequent Flyers Want Miles-plus-Cash Reward Payment Option Friday, 07 March 2008 Kuesnacht/ZH – Loylogic, a leading reward solutions provider to loyalty programs worldwide, made an online survey along with the 2008 Freddie Award voting. More than 9,000 members from 60 frequent flyer programs worldwide participated and one message came through strongly: 94% of frequent flyers want a flexible miles-plus-cash payment option when redeeming rewards.
The survey also revealed other interesting facts and trends of the frequent flyer and credit card industry. Only about 30% of the participants feel that the value of their miles has increased over the past three years. As a consequence, 40% of the frequent flyers consider switching from their airline co-branded credit card to a credit card program – about every fifth voter has already done so.
Another surprising finding: more then 50% of all frequent flyers consider non-flight rewards a valid alternative to flight rewards and – even more astonishing – one out of six considers non-flight rewards more important than flight rewards. No doubt, this trend might heavily impact frequent flyer programs over the next years. While frequent flyers clearly want new reward options, they are not ready to swap their hard-earned miles for any low value offer. One out of two frequent flyers seeks “Great value” when redeeming miles for non-flight rewards.
Hence, increasing the tangible value of miles will be one of the key challenges that frequent flyer programs will have to resolve in future.

Loylogic Built True International Reward Offering
Loylogic Built True International Reward Offering Monday, 14 January 2008 Küsnacht/ZH – Loylogic, a leading reward services provider to loyalty programs worldwide, extended its reward offering from 150 to over 1,000 in the last 12 month. Even more remarkable: 75% of all rewards are shipped internationally. At the same time, Loylogic grew its global reward partner network to over 100 partners including top brands such as Apple, Azzaro, BlackBerry, Bugatti, Casio, Giorgio Armani, Kempinski, Motorola, Nike, Nintendo, Nokia, Panasonic, Philips, Porsche, Ray Ban, Samsonite and many more.
The fast growth is directly related to Loylogic’s reward marketplace technology, which provides an easily implementable and very attractive sales channel for reward partners around the globe. Loylogic integrates new reward partners within hours, giving them access to worldwide loyalty program members, own-ing billions of points and miles. Loylogic’s innovative business model further results in highly competitive reward pricing for the program members. As an example, the Gold Subscription of getAbstract, a provider or online book sum-maries, costs about 21,500 miles with Loylogic. In other shops, the exact same reward can cost three or even four times this amount.
One of Loylogic’s reward highlights is a unique James Bond experience for miles millionaires, starting with a stay in the original 007 Suite in Monaco fol-lowed by a speed boat training, a mock kidnapping to Octopussy yacht for tor-turous SPA treatments, a flight training exercise in a military jet on a Russian air base and a private tour of the Kremlin at the end. Another highlight was auc-tioned in December: Members could bid on 2 VIP tickets for the Spice Girls reunion concert in London that was sold out in a record time of 38 seconds.
"Loylogic’s tailor-made reward solutions with its unique and competitively-priced reward selection increases the value of loyalty currencies substantially. For international airline and hotel loyalty programs we provide the world’s leading reward portfolio and solve one of their biggest headaches” says Dominic Hofer, CEO of Loylogic.

Email: robert.moerland@loylogic.comLoylogic Launches Industry-first Raffle and Auction Features
Loylogic Launches Industry-first Raffle and Auction Features Tuesday, 18 September 2007 Kusnacht/ZH – Loylogic launches auctions and raffles through its Loyrewards™ service. Loyalty program members now enjoy more fun while redeeming points on aspirational rewards. From the program sponsor’s perspective, such redemption options spell out a partial answer to mounting points liabilities, especially in light of up-coming changes in accounting standards for loyalty schemes.
Loylogic recently launched the new auction and raffle redemption types – both offering industry first features – for the Etihad Guest Reward Shop, the frequent flyer program from Etihad Airways, the National Flagship carrier from the United Arab Emirates, based in Abu Dhabi.
Besides the standard auction process, Loylogic has developed a new - travel industry focused - process called "Multi-Item Bidding". The functionality allows airlines to auction any amount of flight seats on a given destination (e.g., 6 seats London-New York) and members to bid with points on the exact quantity of tickets they desire (e.g., 2 tickets). Loylogic's system automatically calculates the best deal for the airline within all possible bidding combinations. The winning members (e.g., member A with a bid on 1 ticket and member C with a bid on 5 tickets) can then settle their auction bids in a combination of points and cash, depending on their current points balance and payment preferences.
Loylogic's raffle process comes with another industry first feature called "Multi-Ticket Raffle". The functionality calculates exponentially the number of raffle tickets a member gets based on the number of points he/she is ready to redeem.
In addition to the fun-factor for the members, auctions and raffles offer a very cost competitive points burning for the program sponsor and more options to better control liabilities stemming from the ever increasing number of unused miles in frequent flyer program accounts.
“The new interpretation of the International Accounting Standards Board is going to hit loyalty program sponsors’ balance sheets with an increase in points liabilities. This is why we strive for procuring innovative, fun and rewarding redemption options for members worldwide at competitive burning costs for program sponsors” says Dominic Hofer, CEO. And he continues: “As you can see, we rigorously pursue our mission of making our loyalty program clients’ miles and points the most desirable loyalty currency in the market. Considering the tremendous success of Etihad Guest, we definitely deliver on our promise”.

Freddie's "Industry Impact Award 2007"
Freddie's "Industry Impact Award 2007" Wednesday, 09 May 2007 Kusnacht/CH, Arlington/USA – Thanks to Loylogic’s revolutionary Loypay-technology, Abu Dhabi based Etihad Airways won the "Industry Impact Award 2007" at the 19th Freddie Awards. The award honors innovations that have the biggest impact on the industry in coming years.
Etihad Guest was honored due to its unique approach to award redemption made possible through Loypay. With the Slider, Etihad Guests can mix any amount of miles and cash to pay for their rewards. Redemption starts as low as 1 mile, allowing every member to get value from the program from the first day. With the underlying algorithm and depending on the miles-plus-cash combination, the Loypay-technology can generate values of 100 Dollars and more for one single mile – something truly unique in the whole industry. “This isn’t a first-generation or even a second or third-generation programme. This new programme has jumped right into a leading position in terms of value and redemptions,” says Randy Petersen. In addition, Loylogic offers a stunning selection of non-flight rewards from 60 worldwide leading lifestyle brands, and a fresh and personalized website to interact with Etihad Guests, portraying reward categories and channels (mother’s day specials for example).
“These Freddie Awards are a great achievement and proof that we offer the right technology and services to accomplish our mission: to make miles and points more valuable than money. We will further strive to pursue this goal and soon be able to provide our clients with new innovations in the area of miles-auctions and raffles“, says Dominic Hofer, CEO of Loylogic. The 19th Freddie Awards took place on April 26th in the Crystal Gateway Marriott Hotel in Arlington, Virginia. The Freddie Awards were introduced in order to honor the best frequent flyer and hotel programs worldwide. The Awards are named after late Sir Freddie Laker who attracted fame for pioneering low-cost air travel across the Atlantic in the 1970s.

New Reward Payment Technology Embraced by Frequent Flyers
New Reward Payment Technology Embraced by Frequent Flyers Tuesday, 19 December 2006 Zurich, Switzerland – Until now, frequent flyers could only redeem their miles against rewards if they had the required miles balance. Missing miles could be purchased, but usually at overpriced rates. Loylogic introduces a new alternative called Loypay™, a revolutionary reward payment mechanism that accepts any combination of miles-plus-cash –thereby making miles more valuable than money. The patent-pending technology is based on a sophisticated algorithm which can boost the value of a single mile up to one hundred dollars or more. In order to feel the pulse of the frequent flyer community, Loylogic has launched a campaign at www.loypay.com , which proves to be a great success: Currently, every 28 seconds a frequent flyer votes for getting more value for his or her miles.
Times when frequent flyers had to refrain from ordering a desired reward due to missing miles are over. Loypay™ allows frequent flyers – as opposed to other reward shops – to individually choose the number of miles they want to redeem and just pay the difference in cash. Moreover, the higher the cash portion, the higher the value of the miles redeemed. Due to this revolutionary dynamic function, a single mile can have a value of up to 100 dollars and more rather then a fraction of a dollar as in other shops. The cost for the program sponsor, however, remains unchanged. Loypay™ even helps airlines make money on flight reward bookings. Since the program members not only redeem miles but also spend cash, the airline earns real cash on reward flights and as members maximize the value of their hard-earned miles, they increase the cash portion accordingly. „The Loypay™-technology clearly provides a win-win solution for both frequent flyers and airlines“, says Dominic Hofer, CEO of Loylogic. In November 2006, Loylogic has launched the Loypay™- campaign at www.loypay.com , which makes one thing clear: frequent flyers embrace the fact they can get more value for their miles. Due to the campaign’s success the deadline for participating in the online drawing has been extended to the end of February 2007. Until then, an Apple iPod 80 GB will be raffled off to a participant at the end of each month.

Porsche on Board
Porsche on Board Friday, 01 December 2006 Zurich/Switzerland – More than 16 trillion miles lie currently idle in frequent flyer accounts all over the world. While in the past free flights and upgrades were popular among the frequent flyer community, non-flight rewards become more and more en vogue. Especially in the weeks before Christmas, web shops are booming as they save you from distressful shopping in overly crowded malls. Loylogic, a leading Swiss reward services provider, offers rewards that are more valuable than free flights or upgrades. Besides a gemmed computer mouse made of pure gold, shares in wineries in Southern France and snowboard lessons in Dubai in the largest indoor ski resort in the world, frequent flyers can now redeem Porsche vacation packages and factory visits against their hard earned miles. By 2010 Loylogic will offer the largest partner network for non flight rewards in the industry.
"Mile-millionaires, already spending lots of their time on business trips in airplanes, often don’t want to fly in their leisure time,” says Dominic Hofer, CEO of Loylogic. The sophisticated frequent flyer increasingly requires valuable experience and lifestyle rewards for his loyalty. By adding Porsche Travel Club to the Reward Shop of Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, Loylogic makes a further step in this direction: frequent flyers can now visit the Porsche production sites in Leipzig, Germany, and experience on- and off-road test drives on the FIA certified race track. Furthermore, nostalgic oldtimer drives through Tuscany or on Sicily can be redeemed against miles.
Loylogic has an ambitious goal: by 2010, they want to offer the largest reward partner network for non-flight rewards in the industry. Besides Porsche, Loylogic already features top brands, including Kempinski Hotels, Apple iPod, Logitech, International Herald Tribune, The Economist or Switzerland’s most famous Sprüngli chocolates. In addition, Etihad Airways’ frequent flyers can redeem miles for medical health checks, desert rallies or breathtaking rock climbing experiences.

Porsche neu an Bord

Frequent flyer guru to join Loylogic
Frequent flyer guru to join Loylogic Wednesday, 11 October 2006 Zurich, Switzerland – 10. October, 2006 – Randy Petersen, the world’s leading frequent flyer expert, has joined the advisory board of Zurich-based reward services provider Loylogic Inc. In this position, Randy will provide global support to Loylogic and promote its patent-pending Loypay™ technology, which "makes miles more valuable than money". According to Mr. Petersen, this reward-payment solution constitutes one of the most important loyalty innovations since the first frequent flyer program was launched by American Airlines back in 1983.
For Dominic Hofer, CEO of Loylogic, Mr. Petersen’s decision to join the advisory board is a great accomplishment: "Randy is thrilled about our approach and his decision to join reinforces our focus to differentiate loyalty programs with our innovative reward services.” With Mr. Petersen’s support, Loylogic expects to make a breakthrough into the US frequent flyer program market over the coming months.
Mr. Petersen is editor-in-chief and publisher of InsideFlyer, considered to be the world's leading publication on frequent traveler programs, and founder of the popular FlyerTalk.com website. In addition, he is Chairman and President of a group of travel-related companies involved in collecting and disseminating frequent traveler program information and providing member support. The Wall Street Journal refers to Mr. Petersen as "the most influential frequent flyer in America," while The New York Times tagged him "the world's leading expert on airline frequent flyer programs." Besides Randy Petersen, several other industry experts are part of Loylogic’s advisory board: Hugh Pride, former CIO of Emirates and CEO of Mercator, Stefan Leser, Executive Vice President Scandinavia & Corporate Development, Kuoni Travel Holding and Dr. Richard Cuthbertson, Research Fellow Retail Marketing, Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.

Loylogic: Making Miles & Points More Valuable than Money™ Wednesday, 06 September 2006 Zurich, Switzerland – 5. September, 2006 – Swiss-based Loylogic Inc. has launched its revolutionary Loyalty Reward Shop with Etihad Airways, the National Airline of the United Arab Emirates, where Etihad Guest members can redeem miles for Etihad Flights, stays at the world’s most luxurious hotel Emirates Palace, desert rallies with their families, the latest Apple iPod or even health checks at local medical clinics. Loylogic is the only provider to integrate miles buying, bidding, gambling and giving in its reward shops. Moreover, one single mile can have a value of up to 100 US Dollars due to Loylogic’s unique Loypay™ reward payment technology.
Etihad has recognized that a traveler’s biggest criticism is that accrued miles are not always easily redeemable for flights or attractive non-flight rewards. "Our goal is to be a leading 21st century airline”, says Peter Baumgartner, Head of Marketing at Etihad Airways. To set the benchmark in airline frequent flyer loyalty, Etihad has contracted Loylogic Inc., the Swiss-based reward services provider, to operate its Etihad Guest Reward Shop. The result clearly proves to be a new generation of reward shops. It integrates all possible miles redemption types and includes a unique feature to automate donations. Loylogic’s rapidly expanding network of international partners also offers a wide variety of rewards in areas such as jewelry, fashion, electronics, gourmet, leisure and experiences.
The key differentiator to current reward shops, however, is the revolutionary and patent-pending Loypay™ reward payment technology. This tool allows loyalty program members to individually select their preferred miles-plus-cash combination to pay for any flight or non-flight reward. Loypay™ dynamically calculates the face value of the miles redeemed depending on the miles-plus-cash combination selected. As a result, one single mile can have a value of up to 100 US Dollars for the program member while the loyalty program sponsor’s costs remain unchanged.
After the very successful launch with Etihad Airways, Loylogic plans the release of additional, unique redemption features and is set to expand its reward partner network and client base. “Our objective is to make our client’s loyalty program currencies more valuable than those of their competitors. Program members want to have an attractive reward selection as well as fun when redeeming their miles and points. Providing this important element of a loyalty program is our business. Our objective is to only work with one client per industry and region and our expansion is underway”, says Dominic Hofer, CEO of Loylogic.

Loylogic: 12 Mio. Auftrag von Etihad Airways
Loylogic: 12 Mio.

Loyrewards™ : Loylogic patents its world-leading Reward Service
Loyrewards™ : Loylogic patents its world-leading Reward Service Friday, 29 April 2005 Zurich, Switzerland – April 28, 2005 - Loylogic Inc., recently founded in Switzerland to ultimately make miles and points more valuable than money, today announced to have successfully patented its worldleading Reward Service Solution: Loyrewards™.
Loyalty programs worldwide have proved to be successful marketing tools. However: The consumption of frequent flyer miles and bonus points often lags way behind their collection. An example: the amount of unredeemed frequent flyer miles worldwide has reached 16 trillion miles – that’s 16,000,000,000,000 – and furthermore this figure is growing by 20% per annum. As the availability of rewards fails to keep pace with this level of growth, frequent flyer programs face miles devaluation and member dissatisfaction, which has a direct impact on the company’s bottom line.
Loyrewards™ fully addresses these challenges by increasing the tangible value of miles & points by applying the Loymart™ and Loypay™ technologies. Thanks to these Loylogic solutions, one single mile could be worth up to USD 100, without impacting on a program sponsor’s mile or point investment. At the same time, Loyrewards™ innovative reward selection paves the way to happier and more loyal clients by ensuring that members find the one reward that will motivate them to consolidate their business with the program sponsor.
In short: Loylogic clients will ultimately benefit from substantially higher sales – including miles sales to marketing partners – and typically achieve payback within 12 months.
