Redemption starts as low as 1 mile, allowing every member to get value from the program from the first day. The 19th Freddie Awards took place on April 26th in the Crystal Gateway Marriott Hotel in Arlington, Virginia. The Freddie Awards were introduced in order to honor the best frequent flyer and hotel programs worldwide. The Awards are named after late Sir Freddie Laker who attracted fame for pioneering low-cost air travel across the Atlantic in the 1970s.
